Pueblo Central Hall of Honor 2010 Inductee

Ed Lesar (1939)

Ed Lesar served in the Marines in WWII. He was a teacher and coach at Central from 1947 until his death in 1971. He was the coach when Central won the first ever state baseball championship in Colorado in 1950. He also coached two state football championship teams, 1961 and 1965. After the additions to the Central building were completed in the 1970's, the students voted to name the lounge above the new cafeteria for him. The annual award for the most influential Colorado high school coach is the Ed Lesar Memorial award. The former student lounge is now the site of the Ed Lesar Hall of Central History.
