Gordon Allott (1923) graduated CU Law School in 1929 at the age of 22. He practiced law in Pueblo one year then moved to Lamar. During his time there he was in private practice and became County Attorney in 1941. He served as a major in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. After the war he became a district attorney in the fifteenth judicial district from 1946 to 1948. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1951 to 1955. He was elected United States Senator in 1954 and served two terms.
